TEHRAN – Iranian director/writer Safi Yazdanian’s debut film “What’s the Time in Your World?” has won best screenplay award at the 21st Rabat Auteur Film Festival -- Festival International du cinéma d’auteur (FICAR).

“What’s the Time in Your World?” starring Ali Mosaffa and Leila Hatami is about Goli, a young woman who arrives in her hometown of Rasht after 20 years of living in France. Farhad, a frame maker by trade, comes to welcome her. He seems to know her well, but Goli has absolutely no recollection of him.

“A Few Cubic Meters of Love” by Tehran-based Afghan filmmaker Jamshid Mahmudi also won the award for best film and brought its stars, Saed Soheili and Hasiba Ebrahimi, best actor and best actress awards.

The festival’s grand prix went to producer Navid Mahmudi.

“A Few Cubic Meters of Love” tells the story of Saber, a young Iranian worker who secretly meets Marona, the daughter of an Afghan worker, somewhere on the outskirts of Tehran where a small factory illegally employs Afghan asylum seekers.

The Moroccan capital hosted the 21st Rabat Auteur Film Festival from January 29 to February 5.
